This month ushers in Capricorn, the CEO of our lives, who's empowered when committed to worth-while projects demanding focus and concentration. Venus who's been traveling with the full (January 1) and new moon (January 16 at 6:17 pm PST) counsels us to commit to work we love whole-heartedly so our work nourishes us. Saturn and Pluto are nurtured by huge cultural and societal projects – like the Golden Gate Bridge, the shot to the moon, the restructuring of society. These are projects no one person can accomplish alone, but as a society we can. Some of us are nurtured building homes and families, small businesses and communities. It's a different legacy that takes time and commitment, too.

Our adult urges are on steroids with Saturn back home after thirty years, and six planets in Capricorn. With all planets in forward motion until March 8 - an exceptionally long period – there's a crazy amount of energy available for jump starting projects and building momentum.

Relationships and a Lightening Bolt of Surprise

Managing ourselves can be a full time job these days, right?! Well, here comes the Aries' full moon (Oct 5 at 11:40 a.m. PDT) offering reality checks on just how well we are doing – in relationship to our relationships. Full moons bring to light what we can't see and this one comes with feedback from our near and dear. Pointing out the errors of our ways may come with a polite smile from the Sun and Mercury in diplomatic Libra, but don't blow it off.

Aries, the sign of 'me' and Libra, the sign of 'we,' are at opposite ends of one line. If either gets too far out on its end, compromises are hard to come by. So pay attention to where you stand, what you hear and what results you want.

Spicy, Uranus in fiery Aries teaches us a lesson in finding courage to break past our barriers of playing small. But, as we learn new lessons, perhaps, we overstated our positions. Uranus' gifts often come out of the blue - like a lightening bolt.

Giving Uranus extra juice, expansive Jupiter wraps up a year in Libra. He's opened doors to us of more social interactions and networks which means we have new choices of who to hang with and who to cut since a year ago. The combination of Uranus and Jupiter with the full moon could end up resembling a game of musical chairs.

Questions to ask under the light of this moon: have I overstated my case, and been too pushy about my point of view? Have I forgotten that others, like my dear best friends and dearest spouse, have view points too? Or do I have friends so busy espousing their opinions that they don't realize they are about to be voted off my island?

Leo's Heroic Quest: Re-igniting Our Courageous Hearts

The messy cosmic weather promised for the full moon of July 8 appeared in a sniper on a sailboat holding boaters, businesses and homes at bay in Bainbridge Island's Eagle Harbor. The sniper, whose activities began within minutes of the full moon, did not live to tell his tale, but his actions will fuel future stories of those who endured a frightful few hours.

Cosmic action unfolds like a matinee's serial adventure. Mars, co-starring with the last few moons, remains on stage ramping up adventures. With planets partying in playful and courageous Leo, we may rearrange our lives so we remember to delight in life and ourselves.

Leo's new moon (July 23 at 2:45 a.m. PDT) ruled by the Sun itself, focuses on our vitality and willingness to be seen. We must re-commit to what brings energy and lightness to our hearts where it is natural to express warmth and generosity of spirit.

Two new moons instead of the usual one add weight to Leo's urges. Additionally, a lunar (Aug 7) and solar (Aug 21) eclipse are on the horizon interrupting the Sun and Moon's normal light and function. The switch up shows us where our inner Leo lives in the light of awareness and the dark of denial – and reminds us of the cost of denial.

Leo's shadow shows up in bullying, pompousity and constant demands for attention. The perpetrator remains oblivious while observers cringe at his obvious ineptitude. A Tide Change

New moons represent initiation phases and a time to plant seeds for future harvest. Eclipses emphasis the moon's meaning. This Sunday's Pisces new moon eclipse (February 26 at 6: 58 am PST) comes with a twist. It is the last of a two-year series in Virgo and Pisces. Thus, it is a beginning and an end, a tide change.

Astrological processes use the symbols of planets circling the sun through starry constellations. We go around and around, season to season, year in and year out, day to night, and night to day, again and again. Astronomy shows that we are not orbiting the sun in a flat plane but in a spiral, and so hopefully, in astrological terms, each cycle offers a higher perspective of what it means to be a human, or a society, or even a civilization alive on one small planet for a short period of time.

Each sign outlines a lesson plan full of growth and regressions. From Aries through Scorpio, we focus on individual development and actions, but the last four signs, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, shift to societal views and how we fit into the whole. If we haven't fully internalized the first eight signs, we find ourselves ill-equipped for the final four.

Eclipse - A Drama or Comedy?

Quicksilver could be the code word for this full moon eclipse (Friday, Sept 16 at 12:05 pm PDT). Mercury, quicksilver in the elements, is a fast talker and happy to joust with Mars, Mr. Sword Play - quicksilver of another sort. We may find our mouths working faster than our good sense and surprised at the fast and furious reactions coming at us. (What? What did I say?)

Confusion ensues as the sweet Pisces moon, the wounded healer Chiron and the calm Sun in no- nonsense Virgo struggle toward a body and soul healing. The trigger point comes when too much pressure around getting the job done drains the joy out of nebulous longings for imagination and spirit.

This eclipse unfolds like a Shakespearean play that could be a drama - but may be a comedy. Still, with Mercury and Mars loose on stage, mixing it up and bumping into our hidden wounds, protective reactions can come out overstated, aggressive and personal.

No one escapes an eclipse so everyone needs a slow-down-strategy! Step outside for a smoke (even if you don't), count to ten, go to the restroom, Do whatever it takes to slow down snappy responses and error on the side of kindness.

Of course, this is far easier said than done so a forgiveness strategy could come in handy - whether applied to ourselves or the other. When we (or they) put our foot in it, phrases like “Did I say that out loud?”, “Oops!”, and “OMG, I can't believe I just said that!” followed by a belly laugh can launch a renewed camaraderie and way forward.

Sometimes all it takes to find a new path is a bump in the road or a hilarious misstep. However you get there, this eclipse bounces us out of our ruts and ultimately, your life changes elicit a round of applause.

Horoscopes September 16 – 30

Virgo, waking up to your own needs demands change and eclipses don't let you slide. Logic may be on your side but move gently. Healing is afoot and partners are tender. Clues may be held in threads you dropped nineteen years ago. You're at a crossroads and you get to choose.
